How to know when to Recommit and when to Release

Chasing your dream, or chasing your tail?

There’s nothing wrong with being busy… running a business is most often going to require effort and ‘doing’ things, lots of them.
I like being busy myself. I enjoy the satisfaction of taking on tasks and getting them done. But I really don’t enjoy being so busy that I feel stressed and overburdened.
My life is nowhere near as busy as it was, and I chose that consciously, and only recently I realised why I don’t feel stressed (most of the time…) HERE’S WHY…
8 simple steps to help you follow through – cultivate commitment

It’s not losing sight of the goal, whilst enjoying the journey along the way.
It’s hard, doing the doing every day, not being able to see the progress that’s being done because your actions are so small they seem insignificant. Well, doing the doing every day, if the actions are well thought out, planned and consistent is EXACTLY what will get you there. So today I thought I’d explore some of the strategies you can use to help you keep doing the doing, towards whatever it is you want to create.
Do you dare to own your dream?

Dreams to me represent a maybe land that seems far away and not real.
Dreams feel safe… You don’t have to own them and accept the responsibility of doing whatever it takes to achieving it when it’s a dream.
You can leave it in that corner of your mind where nice things hang out. Where your childhood dreams lay dormant and where your adult dreams now are added to the pile. They’re nice thoughts that deep down you really don’t know if they’re really going to happen. But one day you wake up and realisethat those dreams that are lurking are probably not going to happen without some significant action, even though you kind of thought they always would.
Do you know what you really want?

Do you know what you want? What you really want? Yes? Maybe? Sometimes? No idea? Not sure? When was the last time you asked yourself that? And if you did, what do you answer?
I know when I asked it for a long time, it’s been different every time. And sometimes I just didn’t have a clue! And then as soon as I thought I knew, and it changed!
Well, I do now. I’ve been thinking about it for quite a while now and I ask myself it frequently. I keep tuning in with the question and the answer to check that I’m on the right track. Because what I want and what I’m doing right now – are one and the same.
